Chuck Wade: Sow the Wind and Reap the Whirlwind

The Old Testament prophet Hosea warned us about sowing the wind and reaping the whirlwind. The political landscape in 2016 is evidence aplenty that the old man knew something about weather forecasting, but he was talking about something far more serious than the weather. We ignored the warning. We are reaping the whirlwind.

Said another way, the net result of embracing evil can only result in producing more evil. The American political process is the very essence of evil. Morality does not exist among the political elites as they practice their evil trade. The Political Class is god.

Truth, the first victim of the political process, is abandoned in favor of political expediency. In politics, expediency equates to winning the next election.

The desire to win led to creation of the big lie, the greatest lie is the one that Americans should put more trust in politicians than they put in God.
The stock in trade of the politician is money. Possession and control of money enables those who worship money and power to attain and keep control of the reins of government. The pursuit of power became a contest as to which politician could gain the most support from the most voters. This process created class warfare where the politicians pit groups of people against each other.

In this fiction, the politician portrays himself as the savior of one group over another. But he can only do the saving if voters elect him or her or it. Their hypocrisy is heightened by their claims to be public servants. If politicians are public servants then orangutans can be brain surgeons.

In order to further their nefarious goals, the politicians distort the Christian principle of charity. They have successfully equated government wealth redistribution schemes as just and moral acts. This redistribution is  tailored to groups at the top and bottom of the socio-economic scale.

The bankers and businessmen buy favorable legislation for their efforts. The poor are provided groceries, housing, and medical care. The vast middle class gets the privilege of paying for it all. Wallowing in the affluence it created, the middle class sits idly by and ignores the political realities that are becoming more and more evident.

We have come to accept the income tax, government agencies that restrict freedom, the minimum wage, government schools, environmentalism, abortion, and a redefinition of marriage.

Christians and the exercising of their religion are becoming taboo while the excesses of Islam are ignored, even embraced. Traditional behavior norms are no longer acceptable and tolerance of the most egregious behavior is celebrated among the masses and enforced by the court system.

At the heart of all this is our rejection of the eternal principles established by the One who created us and the natural universe. Unless and until we turn back to God, unless and until we put our faith in Him, unless and until we acknowledge, affirm, and require a return to the eternal truths, we will continue to suffer the whirlwind predicted by Hosea.

Chuck Wade: Illegal Immigration and Welfare State Yields Disaster

Most people are not aware of the significance of the problem with illegal aliens in Georgia and the other forty-nine states. That is because to date, most people have not been personally negatively impacted by their presence.

But all of us are affected. Dustin Inman is one example; there are thousands of others. Mostly, we hear about how hard-working the criminals are. What we don’t hear much about is how they are able to stay here, eke out a living, send money back home, and become wards of the state.

What it comes down to is the promise of the Welfare State to those willing to accept what the Welfare State hands out. Those handouts rose partly because families, churches, and civic organizations quit their responsibilities to the truly needy among us.

The question, which is irrelevant now, is whether we quit our responsibilities or if we were encouraged to do so by government growers expanding their influence. Whatever the case, the bottom line is that almost anyone can get by with the essentials of life courtesy of the government welfare office.

The illegals, whether they are Hispanic or Muslim, get a free ride courtesy of the American Taxpayer. But since only about half of us pay taxes, it is difficult to get people involved in stopping the abuse. Thus, an old man in the woods sounding the alarm sounds like the village idiot for raising the issue of government dependence.

It is a fact that people can get by living on the government dole. This includes doing without a job. What with all the benefits of not working, it makes sense to a lot of people not to work.

Think about it. A trespasser comes to America. He speaka no English. He hava no job skills. He may be infected with some exotic disease. He needs help. So what do we do? We send paid government agents to the rescue.

Rescue includes interpreters, cash payments, medical care, living quarters, and job training. But getting a job means giving up all the other stuff. This the illegal has learned from Americans who are content to live the welfare life style.

Government dependents learned long ago that getting by is a better life choice than seeking success in a free country. That job thing is just too much to have to deal with compared to a free ride.

Without Americans to do the menial tasks, illegals fill the void. Out of this comes the idea that some jobs Americans won’t do. They would if they had to. But those who favor more government don’t want them to take care of themselves. Dependency is better for government than freedom and personal responsibility.

This insanity must end. We cannot exist as a nation under this type situation. At some point, we are very close now, there will be more dependents than free people. Our political rulers know this and they are happy with it. If they were not, they would do something about it.
